Puerto...Or Porto?

El Porto was massive today--no wave riders were present (that I could discern from the couldron of whitewater).  In fact, from Manhattan to El Porto, I saw not a single soul in the water.  Moving past Porto into Gundo, there were a few brave souls out--and to quote all of them that I talked to, their sessions involved "poundings."  I don't doubt it--there was a serious amount of water moving out there today.

South of Manhattan Pier, the waves were large
North of Manhattan Pier, now at El Porto--or should I say, "El Puerto"?--the waves
were even larger.
Moving into El Segundo, you had to be willing to take a beating to session today, though it was
more manageable than Porto or Pier.
Before the reform, this wicked little wave would spin a barrel perpendicular to shore.

More shots from today's South Bay tour will be posted over the next few days.

Until then...

FIN.

Please welcome South Bay Central's newest advertiser...

...South Bay BMW!  Check them out through the link box on the right side when you are done viewing content.  I'm really stoked that they are signing on as an advertiser, and I encourage you to check out their website.  New content will be up soon.  I received back some more film from the day I took the photo of Natalie Anzivino at Manhattan Pier tucking into the tubular hollows of a sizable wave.  I've also been doing a considerable amount of Polaroid/Fuji instant film photography, so I'll be sharing some scans from my Polaroid 100 Land Camera prints soon too.

Until then...
